The cutting-edge design will utilize a combination of electric power and liquefied natural gas to propel its 62-meter hull. The yacht surprised attendees at the Global Super Yacht Forum held in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
“Crystal Blue has been specifically developed to demonstrate that new technology can meet the highest performance demands in the yacht industry, improve operations, and simultaneously enhance guest comfort levels without negatively impacting the environment,” stated Oskar Levander, VP of concept and innovation at the company.
The super yacht’s capacity is for 12 crew members and 12 guests. The advantages of liquefied natural gas have not yet been utilized in the yacht industry due to the space tanks occupy, Levander added.
For this reason, it is anticipated that the Crystal Blue will be accompanied by a 42-meter support vessel called Blue Shadow.
